Meet our Pastor
Pastor Brian Troxell
Pastor Brian's journey is a story of God's grace and a commitment to serving the Church. Born in Lakewood, Colorado Brian's dad was on staff here at Lakewood Nazarene in the 1970s as the youth, college and worship pastor so Pastor Brian really feels at home!
Brian accepted a call to full-time ministry while in college at Southern Nazarene University where he met his wife, Sarah. They married in 1996 and have four children. Mia (26) who is married to Michael Arseneau and they have a 3-year old son named Ezren, Jackson (23) who is married to Toni, Benjamin (20) is a sophomore at Olivet Nazarene University and Olivia (15) is a freshman in high school.
Pastor Brian spent his first 8 years of full-time ministry as a youth pastor in Duncan, Oklahoma and Colorado Springs, Colorado. His dedication to pastoral ministry began in Woodland Park, Colorado where he served as the lead pastor of Woodland Park Church of the Nazarene for 15 years. Next he pastored at One Church of the Nazarene in Houston, Texas for almost 5 years and began here at Lakewood in the role of lead pastor in October 2024.
Beyond his role as pastor he enjoys golf, disc golf, playing chess and spending time with his family.
Sarah’s journey in ministry began with a distinct calling in middle school. Over the years, that initial spark evolved into a dedicated career focused on spiritual leadership and musical excellence. Sarah is passionate about creating an atmosphere where the Word of God and music meet to transform hearts.
Sarah holds a degree in Music Education, a background that informs her technical approach to worship and her ability to develop the talents of our worship team. She and her husband, Brian (Lakewood’s Lead Pastor), have spent years navigating the joys of ministry as a team. Together, they are the proud parents of four children, and they love serving the Lakewood community as a family.
As the Worship Pastor, Sarah’s goal is to lead the congregation in authentic, Christ-centered worship every week. She believes that worship is more than just a Sunday morning experience; it is a lifestyle of response to God's grace. She is dedicated to building a creative community at Lakewood that is both musically gifted and spiritually grounded.

Pastor Sarah Troxell
Meet our Associate Pastor
Pastor Michael Arseneau
Michael serves as our Associate Pastor with a heart for bridging the gap between ancient biblical foundations and modern ministry. With a background that spans the halls of academia and the dust of archaeological digs, he is dedicated to fostering a church environment that is both intellectually deep and community-focused.
Michael’s approach to ministry is grounded in a rigorous academic journey. He completed his studies at Trevecca Nazarene University and Vanderbilt University and is currently pursuing a ThD in Ecclesiology and Biblical Studies at NNU. His scholarly interests include complex philosophical and ethical frameworks, as well as a daily practice in ancient Hebrew and Greek, which he utilizes to bring fresh insights to biblical teaching. His time spent documenting excavation trenches and ancient ruins in Israel allows him to provide a vivid, historical context to the scriptures, making the world of the Bible come alive for the congregation.
Before joining the team here in Colorado, Michael served as the Senior Pastor at Newberg Church of the Nazarene in Oregon. Throughout his ministry career, he has focused on creating sustainable volunteer pipelines and overseeing technical infrastructure to ensure the message of the Gospel reaches as many people as possible through both traditional and digital means.
Michael is passionate about intergenerational engagement and creating a "multi-age pipeline" where every member of the family can grow together. At the heart of this vision is his desire to help the congregation engage deeply with the biblical text through shared study and daily translation practices. He also leads the Emerge Ministry, which integrates this passion for deep biblical engagement with a focus on building a vibrant, intergenerational community.
Beverly Garmon has faithfully served as the Office Administrator at Lakewood Church of the Nazarene for the past 18 years. With a heart for ministry and a deep commitment to the life of the church, Beverly plays a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
She is often the first point of contact for the church—the friendly and welcoming voice you hear when you call or stop by the office. Beverly oversees the church’s finances with care and integrity and manages the day-to-day operations that support the ministry and mission of the congregation.
Her dedication, warmth, and attention to detail make her an invaluable part of the Lakewood Church family.

Carol Alberts
Carol Alberts has faithfully served as the Children’s Director at Lakewood Church of the Nazarene for 18 years. With a deep love for children and a passion for helping them grow in their relationship with Christ, Carol has been a consistent and caring presence in the lives of countless families.
She leads with creativity, compassion, and dedication, creating a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment where children can learn, worship, and belong. Carol works closely with volunteers and families to ensure that each child is known, valued, and encouraged in their faith journey.
Her years of faithful service and joyful spirit have made a lasting impact on the church, and she continues to be a vital part of the Lakewood Church family
Mike Colby has been serving as the Youth Director at Lakewood Church of the Nazarene for the past 18 months. With a passion for students and a heart for discipleship, Mike is dedicated to helping teenagers grow in their relationship with Christ and navigate life with faith and purpose.
He brings energy, authenticity, and a relational approach to ministry, creating a welcoming environment where students feel seen, valued, and encouraged. Mike invests deeply in the lives of youth through weekly gatherings, events, and one-on-one connections, helping them build a strong spiritual foundation.
His enthusiasm for sharing the gospel and mentoring the next generation has made a meaningful impact on the students and families of Lakewood Church of the Nazarene.
