What is the Roundtable? (And Why Your Voice Belongs There)

Have you ever walked away from a conversation about faith feeling weary or unheard? Like you asked a massive, life-altering question about suffering, science, or justice, only to be handed a bumper-sticker cliché? Too often, modern religious spaces treat faith like a transaction: you show up, consume a polished weekly performance, tithe, and are quietly discouraged from asking questions that don't fit into a neat box. The church gets treated like a supermarket, and you get treated like a consumer.

We believe there is a healthier alternative.

Connected to our new Saturday night service, we are launching the Wednesday/Thursday Night Roundtable. This is a dedicated "thinking space" designed to allow the whole community to sit with the mystery of God, engage the life of the mind as a spiritual practice, and wrestle honestly with scripture together.

Why is the Roundtable Necessary?

Our theological tradition has a deep, beautiful history of critical thinking. We believe that loving God with your whole being explicitly includes loving Him with your mind.

When the church avoids difficult topics, it creates an artificial disconnect between our actual, lived experiences and our spiritual lives. The Roundtable is our way of destroying that disconnect. Borrowing from ancient biblical frameworks, we don’t believe leadership should be a top-down monologue where one person pretends to have every answer. Instead, the church is meant to be a "kingdom of priests"—a flat, relational community where every single person is responsible for bringing a shaping, forming, and healing word to the body.

What Can You Expect?

The Roundtable isn’t a typical Bible study where you sit in rows and listen to a lecture. It is a slow, ongoing, and interactive process.

  • Intimate & Safe Spaces: We meet in small groups so that every voice has space to participate without having to fight for it. You are free to speak your mind, share your doubts, and process your real life.

  • True Collaborative Discovery: We approach scripture not as a rigid manual of "dos and don'ts," but as an open invitation to dialogue. As a community, we seek the will of God together.

  • Worship Shaped by You: This is the most unique part. The discoveries, hard questions, and insights that emerge from our Roundtable sessions directly shape, inform, and build the sermon for Saturday night. When you participate in the Roundtable you move from just sitting in a pew on Saturday to actively forming our communal worship.

Come Sit With Us

You don’t have to leave your brain at the door to find sanctuary. Whether your faith feels rock-solid, completely fractured, or somewhere in the messy middle, your perspective is necessary to our community. Join us every Wednesday or Thursday night at 6:30 PM. Let's stop pretending, and start seeking together.
